How to increase your sales

I can hear you squirming already 🙁  BUT we are all in sales, whether we like it or not!

  • Think about how you encourage your children to do what you want them to. Think about how a child learns very young to literally tie you around their little finger, with a smile,  encouragement and constant asking – that is sales.
  • The CV we write to secure the interview to get us in front of the decision makes – that is sales.
  • The man or woman that we want to ask us out, we dress nicely, take more time with our appearance, engage in great conversation, build the start of a relationship – that is sales.

So translate that basic innate skill into business and your building business relationships, that may in time build into sales of your product or your services.

REMEMBER before you start squirming again, remember we are all in sales.

Shock horror – why would you do all the hard work and then stop? You’ve warmed up that person for someone else to swoop in!

Or, to summarise these statistics to their shocking core: ONLY 10{2d32fbf16b5807558623e5bf463bab46fd607d7552aacb626ed4776260a95749} of salespeople contact prospects at least 4 times, yet 90{2d32fbf16b5807558623e5bf463bab46fd607d7552aacb626ed4776260a95749} of sales are made with the 4th (or more) contact!

So, here’s the killer – if you KNEW without a shadow of a doubt that you’d get that sale, or better still you KNEW that you had a 80{2d32fbf16b5807558623e5bf463bab46fd607d7552aacb626ed4776260a95749} chance of securing that sale merely by contacting them 12 times – you’d call them wouldn’t you??

OR if you don’t want to, and believe whatever story you are telling yourself in your head then ok – enjoy that, but remember the numbers do not lie!

Sales is the oxygen to your business growth and success. Without it, there will eventually be no business. It’s impossible to grow anything without sales.

Here’s my recommendation – FALL IN LOVE with building relationships and following up.

STEP 1 – Always follow up within 24 hours. It’s not hassling them –  it’s good business practice.

STEP 2 – Always do what you say you are going to do.

STEP 3 – Build a sales process and be CONSISTENT!

Remember the purpose of each meeting is to build a relationship and trust. People will do business with people they know like and trust.
